This photographic project offers a counter-narrative of French. Polynesia, far from the static representations shaped by the tourism industry. Through portraits and everyday scenes, PORINETIA reveals a lived-in territory, marked by the tensions between tradition and modernity, heritage and contemporary aspirations. It aims to shed light on often-overlooked lives — workers, families, younger generations and to honor a more discreet kind of beauty: one rooted in the everyday, sincere, sometimes rough, but deeply human. At the crossroads of documentary and humanist photography, this work follows an immersive and respectful approach, where the image becomes a tool for social storytelling and the reconstruction of collective imagination. It serves as a temporal mirror, capturing the echoes of a society in motion, within a territory where identity is in constant redefinition.
